Japanese version

*** My encounter with the game of go
Back in my university days, one of my classmates, Mr.Nagatomi, invited me into the world of go. Now, 40 years or more have passed since then. I thank him for teaching me the exciting game. I find no other game that is so deep and interesting as go.

*** Young professionals under the tuition of Mr. Kitani
When a group of young professional players under the tuition of Mr. Kitani, who was one of the top go players in Japan then, came to Lake Hamana about 40 years ago, I was given a chance of playing the game with some of them, including Mr. Masaharu Sato (the third dan player at that time), Mr. Kunio Hisajima (the fourth dan player at that time) and a few others. Mr. Kunio Hisajima, one of those few professionals who coached me then, died on April 5, 2006. I extend my sincere condolences to him. I feel very sorry that he passed away at such a young age of 59.

*** My profile
I 'm a Japanese, born in 1944. living in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. My handicap is 4 stones to professional players. (It means, if I play games with professional players, I would have 4-stone advantage to play even.)
